The author was inspired to pursue a particular topic for his PhD by reading Man Economy and State by Murray Rothbard. His dissertation topic is how money diffuses through the US economy and affects local economies. He applied Austrian economics to explain what was going on geographically in the US economy during the inflation of 67 to 71.
