In October 1945, Oppenheimer left Los Alamos, along with many of the other Manhattan project scientists. He expressed pride in the work they had done, but said today that pride must be tempered with a profound concern. It's almost impossible to square some of his attitudes regarding the development of the bomb. But then I kind of feel like this is the most honest and human, most human way to see the damn thing,. having these conflicted opinions that don't actually square with each other.
