Should People Still Celebrate Thanksgiving?

The story that Thanksgiving was a symbol of peaceful cooperation and kindness is not accurate. There were countless wars and battles between Native Americans and early European settlers. The chief of the Wampanoag tribe had his head cut off as a warning to other tribes. According to historians, 30% of all English settlers and 50% of all Native Americans in the region could have died in that war. It is important to teach the reality of war and violence, rather than lie about friendship. What do you think? Should people still celebrate Thanksgiving?
