There's still 5 million homes in America that burn heating oil for winter heat. There aren't natural gas lines through much of the Hudson Valley where I lived or here in Maine because it's too rural. The push is for offshore wind because no one wants the windmills onshore, both here and in Europe. Even those who are doubtful of global warming are very enthusiastic about renewable energy.
