The western United States is a perfect example where water was simultaneously viewed as vital for economic development but also a dangerous and unreliable resource. How has the west's relationship with water change and what are California and other drought and flood prone states doing to more sustainably utilize water? Well of course the western u.s. has always had a incredibly complex history around water it's it's much more arid much more drive than the eastern U.S. The changes in climate in the last couple of decades have led to a growing effort to try and address at least partially slowly and fermentally some of the water related challenges we have.
