The Importance of Specificity in a Marriage Story
The query letter clocks in at 277 words which is very great in terms of length. The paragraph that essentially delivers the stakes, it's the one that starts with but she couldn't have foreseen what she would soon discover about her husband. That paragraph is basically questions or could she? Is he lying? Is she misremembering? Is she criticizing? Is he manipulating her?
