When I was young and learning how to be a historian, I was taught how to read texts. You know, that was the key thing that you try to do to understand audience and reception. And as I was going through into sort of my PhD, things like coins, archaeology were also important as well. We're not happy with all time on this planet, but we're not so happy with human history or animals either. The challenge is for us to absorb scientific data in ways that reflect our natural world.
