The Relationship Between Edward and Wallace Simpson
In 1930, three years into her second marriage, Wallace Simpson was introduced to the Prince of Wales by a married friend that he was having an affair with. The relationship between Edward and Wallace was kept secret from the British public - but it was better known in the United States than in Britain. When his father found out, he was deeply disapproving of the match. She was not the type of woman a future British monarch should be marrying. But when King Edward VIII died in 1936, she had no intentions of breaking things off with him.
