You can do very, very well in self published if you want to. The only way to really cash out of the shows is to stop doing it. You have to think about what business is. It's a career. This is not a hobby. And because they treat it that way, they never go anywhere. But the minute you're willing to treat it as an actual business then it becomes a very realistic kind of that has expenses and returns.
