Is the Cluster the Seat of Consciousness?
It's this long thin sheet nestled between the neocortex and the striatum. It has been hypothesized to have a role in a lot of different things. Crick and Coke said it would have something to do with perhaps integrating conscious percepts. So I think, you know, there have been a lot of hypotheses, but really what we need to do is go after this area with all of the arsenal that modern neuroscience has to offer.
