James describes listening obsessively through a certain pair of Mozart operas. You say these two are by Mozart which helps. The biggest deterrent to opera for me is Wagner. No, quite seriously though, Mozart. It seemed to me like the Mozart I heard seemed like variations on twinkle, twinkle, little stuff. It felt too sugary and too nice.
