Jen's fate is still undecided, and the possibility remains that she will choose to surrender her willfulness. The whole movie functionally consists of saving Jen from the consequences of her actions. One of the traditional attitudes towards femininity is indulgence. In the sense of leniency, forbearance, and protection, it's a privilege that femininity enjoys as a consequence of being traditionally deprived of power and authority.
