New Hampshire Must Vote First
In the mid-70s, New Hampshire passed a state law that says the New Hampshire primary must be scheduled at least seven days before any similar contest. Since then, there have been plenty of other states that have tried to move ahead but the Secretary of State has always waited for the dust to clear and for everyone else to schedule their primaries. And the state's Democratic Senator Maggie Hassan said New Hampshire would vote first anyway citing state law.
