"New York was so dominant in hip hop, right? When you talk about Ron, L.L., Houdini, Curtis Blow, all of these guys, they used to do all of them towards even public enemies," he says. "They were the biggest names in hip hop and then the youngest that came behind them figured out quickly, I don't have to sound like I'm from New York. I can use the lingo that we use right here."
