The Importance of Perfect Contrition
The next paragraph 1453 says there's imperfect contrition as well. The goal of course in all of our hearts is that I don't want heaven for my sake, I want heaven for God's sake. And so an act of perfect contrition will say, okay, if that's my sins because I dread the loss of heaven if you're the pains of hell. But most of all, because I've offended you, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love, that is a way of expressing perfect contrition.
