The Uneasyness of Day to Day Life
In 1973, however much malaise people were experiencing, there was still a much larger reservoir of trust and hopefulness about our ability to solve those problems. And that's where we comfortably sit or I should say uneasily said. The other thing I would say is that my mom did the thing that a lot of parents do on the day their kids are born - she tore out the front page of our local newspaper and kept it in a scrapbook. That was a little trickle compared to the absolute fire hose of information that people now receive on a daily basis.
