The Third Reason That Either or Thinking Is Problematic

With either or thinking you go down one path and then switch completely to the other path. The experience of polarization which is that you're sure that if you are right about the way that you're thinking about something someone else must be wrong. We talk about that polarizing experience as trench warfare because it's the experience of like building out your own trench surrounding yourself with people that reinforce support your point of view. So essentially we're shooting out at the other side without really understanding or being open to what's the other position and how we're going to do that.
