A scientist at the University of Cambridge discovered that waxworms eat plastic grocery bags. The discovery was made after cleaning out her beehive and putting them in a bag to use as like fish bait for later. A special protein in the waxworm's belly attacks the chemicals that make up the plastic in the bag.
