In the UK new nice guidelines they now state that patients should go to the ED for imaging rather than it being organized via direct access from the community. So I don't really know whether or not this is going to make a difference but I do think that that's a totally appropriate expectation because getting a scan and getting a report is difficult enough in a 24-7 emergency department.
