How to Calculate a Private Company's Capital Raising Event

A spack murger is when a public company merges with the private company target, and now its shares are trading. The accounting for those actions is essentially treated as a capital raising event. There's no acquisition accounting applied under eight o five to the target company's books. So you'll have retained earnings of the target company that remain unchanged.
