Don't Force It: How to Get into College without Losing Yourself in the Process

Introduction
Supreme Court ruled on affirmative action cases before it that we're regarding whether colleges could use race as a factor they consider when evaluating students for admission. In the majority opinion, Justice Roberts closed with, and I'm going to quote this here, nothing prohibits universities from considering an applicant's discussion of how race affected the applicant's life. So long as that discussion is concretely tied to a quality of character or a unique ability that the particular applicant can contribute to the university.
