The Rejection of Political Liberalism and Economic Liberalism
A lot of the illiberalism that we are facing right now isn't about people wanting to scale back economic liberalism, specifically. It's not really about the political institutions. Those all seem to be like downstream effects of ultimately a rejection of cultural liberalism or a sense that the cultural dynamism has gone either too far or it hasn't gone far enough. So I do think that there is a real threat but then but it's not but I am wondering whether or not there is a link between this and what we're seeing on the Right.
