Ben Smart and Olivia Hope went missing on New Year's Eve 1998. The couple was last seen at the Fernau Lodge, where they'd celebrated with friends. Police didn't have any testimony that led them to suspect foul play. They forwarded photos of the young couple to the lodge for further investigation.
