The Influence of Alexander the Great on Greek Culture
Through military conquest, Alexander the Great created a vast empire that ranged from the Adriatic Sea in the West to the Indus River in the East. Under Alexander were able to see the development of not only Hellenistic Judaism, but Hellenistic Buddhism and even Hellenistic aspects of Egyptian and Persian religions. He adopted elements of Persian fashion and customs at court and seemed to eventually consider himself to be the son of a Greek Egyptian god called Zeus Ammon.
