There's no other evidence to show, at least with regard to the women he's speaking of here, that only women were overcome by the dancing plague. Some dancers in this group were taken to St. Vitus to be cured of any possible curse that may have afflicted them. Eventually after many weeks, the dancing plague just came to a stop. There was no clear ending, there was no clear solve. It's just something that worked itself out of the general psyche.
