The Four Key Areas of Modern Antitrust
At the real core of antitrust is monopoly power or market power so significant market power allows a firm to act independently of its competitors and ultimately its consumers. Cartels, collusion and competitive agreements we can think of these as like different companies getting together to jointly form a group that allows them to act like a monopolist. The fourth one is state aid which is a lot more common in Europe. So basically this is concerned with state support for kind of national champions or big companies. And then you know forgive just this this overview I think these are important things to just bear in mind.
