Lindsey: My dad is a prototypical early 70s convert to apocalyptic evangelicalism. He lapsed it up too, and coming up, I accepted that story. We talked about it like some people talk about sports. And also with my own half Jewishness, you know, I think it could also weave into what that was like coming up as a kid that celebrated Hanukkah and Christmas. Theologically, those are linked because you can't get the kind of math of End Times prophecies if you don't have a fairly literal inerrantist view of the text.
