EU Extends Tariff Suspension for Imports From Ukraine for Another Year After Warding Off an Import Ban on Grain Imposed by Some EU Member States
Japan scrambled fighter jets after what it described as Russian intelligence gathering aircraft were detected off its coasts. Poland and Hungary in April banned some Ukraine imports following complaints from farming groups about the suspension of all duties. The two nations had to become transit routes for grain from Ukraine that could not be exported via the Black Sea. In response, Volodymira Zelensky tweeted: I welcome today's decision of the EU Council to extend temporary trade liberalisation for Ukrainian products for another year. Full abolition of duties and quotas has been extended until June 2024.
