The United States Exploring Ways to Expand FDIC Deposit Insurance
US officials are reportedly studying ways to expand the current scope of deposit insurance that would guarantee all United States bank deposits should the current banking crisis worsen. The current deposit insurance cap under the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation stands at $1.25 million. According to the FDIC, domestic US bank deposits totaled $17.7 trillion as of December the 31st.
