Introduction

This season of school collers takes a look at how the pandemic affected education in New York City. In this episode, we talk to one elementary school principle about her district's diversity working group and what it was like when schools were shut down. The principal says she knew that once kids went home they would not be able to get as much instruction from their teachers. She also talks about some of the challenges faced by families with children who are often undernourished or malnourished because of poverty.
