The Life and Times of Atusi

Atusi was sent as a negotiator to speak to the Mongols in 1256. After Alhamut fell, Atusi announced that he had never really sympathized with the Ismaelies. He became director of a research center and observatory at Maraka in modern-day Azerbaijan. The work done at Maraka has been called a scientific revolution before the Renaissance.
