Tandon: Do you look at the future optimistically or pessimistically? He says that utopia by definition was a place that never existed. And luckily, dystopias tend to die out pretty fast because people flee them. So for him as a forecaster, my default is I'm a short term pessimist but a long term optimist. Tandon: A Japanese gardening philosopher, Masanobu Fukuoka, who had this whole way of turning just a piece of blasted land into a lush garden.
