The CIA's Project MK Ultra
Operation Chalupa was a program of experiments on human subjects that were designed and undertaken by the US Central Intelligence Agency. Project artichoke led to project MK Ultra, which began about 1953. A vast majority of these experiments done by the CIA were illegal. Their experiments on humans were intended to develop procedures and identify drugs such as LSD to be used in interrogations.
