We have a thing in the brain called a social engagement system. You're born with it, but an at the time of birth that is very immature and has to be exercised by your interaction with your parents. When you interact in a healthy, securely attached relationship with your parents, that social engagement, social engaging system gets thickened,. It gets activated, it gets strengthened.
