Belusconi and the Euro Crisis

Is it more accurate to say that Berlusconi was an economic disaster for Italy and Europe? Or looking back on this whole euro crisis and just generally the economics of this period. I don't think it's even a contest. Ultimately, there's no doubt that the French German governments were in conversations with amongst others, the Obama administration about pushing Belusconi out. They could only do that, however, because they had anchors inside Italy.
