The Psychological Effect of History

Most people think of history as a Marvel movie, where someone comes and saves the day. But there are many patches of history that remain the same consistently for quite in a long period of time. For me, this has always been like, you know, pressing an advantage. And defending a disadvantage has always seemed like very similar to me.
