Chris Hitchens is not somebody who would take that kind of thing lying down. Both are making points which are correct, but both want to focus on the other aspect and not emphasize that. But I think one point is that like it didn't necessarily be the case that there's no actual answer or there's no position which is better supported in an argument with this format.
