I'm happy to see all the plants and trees thriving after a good rainfall. Connecting with nature has made me more aware of the destruction going on but it has also lessened my anxiety. So although today's story might seem a bit pessimistic, it has been cathartic to write. It has helped me get out a lot of difficult emotions. My feeling now is life will go on. The trees and plants were around millions of years before we stepped out onto the earth and they will continue after we're gone. I'm lucky simply to be a part of such a beautiful planet at a point in history where we're able to live in relative comfort. If you find this article upsetting
