The Origins of Horse Domestication
There's been a back and forth on this for decades, right? And that genetic picture has really told us that those first domestic horses popped up around 2000 BC or about 4,000 years ago in a very specific region. The beginning of the horse domestication story is actually not in the western steps of Ukraine or the Caucasus, nor is it beginning with the horse. Not long after that, down in Egypt, we have the domestication of the donkey.
