Timothy Leary was a Harvard psychology professor who got kicked out for giving LSD to undergraduates and like kind of very tiny like embryonic acid test experiments. After he and Richard Alpert, aka Rommdoss, got fired, they were given a mansion by a member of the Mellon Banking Dynasty to set up the If-If Foundation. The odds are pretty high that whether the CIA was paying him directly or the Mellon family was serving as a Conde to it for CIA funds and a mind control That one way or another, he seemed to have the quiet blessing of the government.
