The Philippines Is a Power Play, Right?

The Philippines was conquered. They were, you know, ran rough shot over and colonized for half a century. The reason that the Japanese invade the Philippines is partially because it's an American colony. And then they see themselves in between the United States and its new rival empire after the war in the Soviet Union. There are all these good reasons to downplay America's brutal past in the Philippines.
