How Do You Decide When to Have This Conversation?

The big problem is how do you have this conversation, right? Because there is a definite art to this. I think it does depend on when it's coming up and in what context the patient who clearly has chronic conditions that are kind of bringing them towards the end of their life. And maybe, I mean, usually they'll still come to the ICU, but you can kind of set the right tone for it as essentially a palliative admission. It doesn't really have to be any specific amount of time.
