Every dog of your childhood was named walter, and you mention the violence on the ranch. So i never really formed an attachment to any of our dogs growing up. I don't remember even how many we had. They were just all one sort of generic walter. And it sort of this wave of recognition came over me during thanksgiving dinner that this was yet another secret his cancer was yet another family secret.
