I think for me, it's a really interesting topic in itself. It's just this having your architecture enable you to do these kind of test automation in production. I think you should avoid that as much as possible. And you should try and test as a user would. Because if you start putting those kind of back doors in, you run the risk of making these tests green, but actually it doesn't work for real users.
