The Dalcon Shield: A Case Study
The Robbins Company suspended sale of the Dalcon Shield in 1974. The company quickly found itself to be the target of thousands of pending lawsuits. One strategy adopted by the new legal team was to prolong the legal process. If a case did make it to court, plaintiffs were asked intimate questions about their private lives.
