In post-World War II America, Victor Grune witnessed the growth of the suburbs. He decided he would design something and base his creation on the idea of those plazas in Europe. These malls have what were known as anchor stores. Stores like Kmart, Eaton, Sears, Zellers, Wilco don't exist anymore.
