IBS is woefully understudied in terms of racial and other health inequity. I think male presenting patients are quick, potentially be disadvantaged because of an assumption that IBS is something for femme presenting patients. And while there is definitely literature on gender differences in IBS, they don't think it's compelling enough that you would ever not consider the diagnosis based on someone's gender.
