After high school Dean returned to his grandmother's farm in Indiana where he got the sex education and got a job at a coil factory. His regular playmates were surprisingly a pair of sisters who lived about a half mile down the road who Dean used to make innocent eight millimeter movies with the girls performing mock operations using chicken and trails in the place of real organs. At the age of 24 Dean was drafted into the army where he served as a radio repairman in Fort Hood but this follows the pattern that we've observed with both David Berkowitz and Leonard Lake serial killers.
