Algy writes about investing but is also an author and illustrator of children’s books; we have some laughs about very serious and less serious matters. For over a decade, Algy followed several market-beating screening strategies in his weekly column for Investors’ Chronicle, an FT-owned, leading British investment magazine. He is also the author and illustrator of 11 children’s picture books. I’m a big proponent of using screening in the investment process. I’ve tested and back-tested a variety of screens throughout my two-decade-long career. One of my biggest revelations over the years has been the power of filters, and I notice the more experienced, the more seasoned investors use very deliberate filters in deciding what kind of stocks, news, and even people make it into their portfolios, days, and lives.
