Women's rights in Iran were largely shut down at the time of the revolution. They had things that we don't have today, such as child care and maternity leave. When they went out for demonstrations, they didn't go to get theocracy but a more democratic system. But when Homani came to power he vetoed the family law and immediately he brought the hijab or the veil.
